I'd use a good DVM and find out what the sensor is sending and what the DME is seeing.

Hope this helps, because I am trying to understand some issues with my car also. Spoke with Dave at Lindsey today and he said that the voltage from the TPS should be about 3.5 (seen on the apexi/arc 11 etc) with the throttle fully open, but the voltage at the DME should be 4.6.
How do you measure the voltage at the DME?

The DME doesn't see any voltage from the TPS since the TPS is connected to the KLR.
The DME only sees the WOT signal from the KLR which is 0 or 5 volts (on and off).

Okay, that's good to know. I'm not too far off on the voltage thing. My issue may be to loose of a throttle cable like Brian was seeing with his. I'll adjust it some and try again.

Do you just hook up a voltmeter to the hot wire in the DME with throttle open to get your reading?

It is a PWM signal, the guage is the same as the MPG one in the 944NA where the signal is related to the injector pulse width. The KLR pressure sensor is a 2bar unit.

The max TPS voltage should be around 3.3V, the exact value will depend on the KLR's 5V regulator which most likely has a 5-10% output tolerance.

Just to clarify this, it's 2 bar absolute pressure (1 bar boost pressure).

Perry,
Not too sound like an idiot, but don't you want to adjust the throttle cable at the throttle body? Or, am I missing something, here?

I think you are referring to the dash gauge. TT's post referred to the pressure sensor in the KLR. I have some hope that the sensor in the KLR reads up to 2 bar boost, despite the dash going only to 1 -- but I have not yet tested that either.

No, I'm not.
Both TT and I are referring to the MAP sensor in the KLR which is a 0-200 kpa absolute pressure sensor. I have changed mine to a 0-250 kpa sensor which enables me to log up to 1.5 bar boost.

Sorry to hear that, but glad to know it. Thanks. Any tips on sourcing that higher pressure sensor?

No, sorry. I was told that Bosch don't manufacture these sensors anymore. They are not listed in the Bosch sensor catalogue any more. There still may be tuners that have them in stock, they are for instance used when upgrading the chip in old Audi S2 3B engines.

There is some adjustment at the TB but it's typically to adjust the closed position for the TPS. It's almost like my new throttle cable is too long. There is not enough movement from the pedal to open it all the way.

I haven't done a thing with it this week.... hopefully some wrenching will take place this weekend.

Perry951, check the pedal stop behind the pedal. If you like, come by later this month and I can check it for you with the monitor.
