Default Cracked Transmission Can it be repaired???

I have this 968 transmission that as you can see is crack in half. From what I have been told and can see, the case was hit and slightly cracked. Then, it was patched with some sort of metal putty. Then after driving like that for some time it finally cracked all the way.
Do you think there is any way this case could be repaired/welded? I have already been told that I can’t use the LSD out of it in my 951 transmission, so I guess if it can’t be repaired my only option it to sell the LSD which is in good condition. Any idea of how much that might be worth? Thank you!

Sorry but that looks like scrap to me......... Save what you can and use the rest for a door stop or ballast or something. It could be welded but why?

I guess I was hopeing that a profesional welder could weld it stong enough so that I wouldn't have to spend the money on an LSD tranny for my 951. Oh well

Spit and baling wire should do the trick.

That HAD to hurt!

You might not want to trust any component of that little pile. Nasty things happened when the case stopped holding the pieces together [and apart, as appropriate]. Its trash.

Dude - I've seen some messed up $#!T in my time, but that's pretty amazing abuse - the case cracking in half. And on top of that somebody selling it knowing it was "glued" together. I have some faith in epoxy repairs, but that's more than optomistic I'd say.

That's a new one on me. Usually the case stays together and the ring and pinion explodes, not the other way around.
