Default Stock intercooler dimensions

Hi folks,
Could someone make this quick measurement for me? I'm looking to fit a 951 unit in the (now) blank space in front of the engine of my 931. With the help of some sheetmetal to duct the air from the vented nose, I think this area will work out perfectly for a 951-sized cooler. I want to make sure it's short enough to keep it out of the airflow of the radiator.

PS- I need total length too- including end tanks.

Here's a shot of the hole I'm looking to fill (the throttle body is getting attached to a new intake plenum). The turbo hangs under the exhaust side.

If you're interested, here's the rest of the story-

cheers,
nick

I'll go out to the shop and measure an intercooler I have laying around and let you know. Stay tuned.

I suppose a direct fit is out of question. A friend of mine who have a '79 931 have same kind of idea. The sheet metal under nose panel are different in 951 comparing to 931. It would be a easier swap do to if you can have 951 under nosepanel sheet metal converted to 931

Wow perfect! Thanks a million for the great shots.

It looks like it will fit in perfectly. The space in front of the engine was formerly occupied by the CIS injection- all this is replaced with a Megasquirt now, so I have lots more room than most/any other 931 guys. The usual intercooler plumbing for a 931 is to copy the 951 placement (some sheetmetal cutting involved and nasty hose plumbing).

Thanks again for the help!
