Hos:

"Rob: Why did you chose to go for an 8v instead of a 16v?? It is claimed that the 16v flows better, you didn't want to mess with a custom intake/exhaust manifold? Too much hassle?"

Yes, you are right on all above. And yes it is more $$ to do the 16V. But also, for "my application" being super-fast street car (not track car) the 8V would have more low end TQ too.

No harm done guys. Good to see a few of you finally catching up. Special Tool will surely be the first one to get over 500 hp. I bet he'll also be the first to rebuild his motor after it implodes with all that boost. We should make sure we all stay friends and see who can get 100,000 miles on their motor. David Raines has over 90,000 on his already. Same motor as mine. Now that's something to be proud of. Oh, and RolexNJ, it's not me who's paying for a ton of lap dances. They work for me remember? It's everyone else that's buying from my girls. lol. Congrats again.

Yes the SFR headers bolt up, but so do the 16v headers to a 16v head. Same cost isnt it?

DFASTEST951: I hear you pal loud and clear. We all just need to remember this though about these cars. Not everyone uses their cars the same. Hence, the way they are built can be very very different. Some people use their cars just for auto-cross, some are track cars only, some are show cars, and others are super-fast street cars. I say this because sometimes people tend to "only" focus on peak HP numbers. And yes, we all want monster cars with huge HP numbers. I mean, who doesn't? But the problem is you can't have the best of both worlds. You can't have a car with an insane low end response and incredible top-end HP numbers as well - we all know this. So people constantly need to be reminded of: what is the application of eac person's car? As for me, my car was specifically built to be a fast street car, for the most part. As such, I wanted to best combination for "my application" of great low end response, but also very high end HP numbers too. Now, if my car was a track car, we would have built the engine and chose a different combination of components too. One thing for sure is the size of the hotside a/r size. Right now, I have the smallest a/r size (.58) possible. Why? Because I wanted the best low end response. If my car was a track car, I would have at least gone up one size, maybe 2 or 3 to get those high HP numbers. Some cars have a dyno chart that shows them pulling hard at a low boost, while othesr show a good amount of turbo lag, but then! Bam, the turbo kicks in.

Anyway, you made a very valid point too regarding reliability. We shall see how these cars last in the months or years to come. And if I come out to where you are in that sandbox, can you get me some nice hotties?

That's exactly why I said your dyno was as pretty as mine. We are after the same thing. I too want the baddest street/show car around. As far as the hotties, consider it done. I can accomodate any budget. More on that when the time comes. Enjoy the ride. Wait a minute. I just looked at your sig. If you come out and help me be a better driver, we might just be able to barter services...we'll see. Again, enjoy, and I hope yours lasts a long time.

DFASTEST951: My man, consider it done! I love to barter. You just pick the track, get some seat time, and I'll teach you the tricks of the trade! This could be interesting, right? East meets West kind of thing?

Rolex: You really could have gone with a 16 valve head since you bored it out you could have gotten JE pistons to make you a piston that would work with the 16 valve. Just emagine the power if you were to put the 16 valve on!!

Yes that is wrong children will bring you far more pleasure than any car.

But now.... you could sell an organ or 2 and build a super nice car like Rob's

shaheed: Thanks for the compliment. Like the TQ curve too? Nice?

porshhhh951: You are so nuts!

David Floyd: Do you know how many organs I gave up since 2003 for this entire car? Damn, I gave up a kidney just for the entire polished engine bay!

What one spends to attain the results is irrelevant here.
To each his own. As long as the person involved is happy
with the results, that this what counts.
Congrats NJ, very nice numbers.
