"An engine with 400 hp @15 Psi has the same BMEP as an engine with 400 hp @ 25 psi."

Wouldn't that only be if both engines were the same displacement and the same amount of cylinders?

I like this thread too. Why? It's my "15 minutes" of fame!

Now, if I could just break that damn 500 mark! Well, maybe I will have to bit the bullet and dump the MAF and go stand-alone? Hummm.

Talking

Yo Dog, why not jus' trade in yo 951 for a Trick Supra and do the quarter mile in 7-8 sec @ 190 mph? Y'all coulda bought a 993 turbo for all the loot you spent. Somebody laughin' all the way to the bank.

Ironically, when you have a car, capable of making great power (such as you'res) and being exceptionally "streetable", they start comparing big numbers to the engine curve.....

Could you enlighten me on what is going on????
I hope this was not in any way directed towards me. My post had nothing to do with you, HOWEVER it did have to do with RolexNJ and his INCREDIBLE car, which I did not flame whatsoever. .

My point is not about him per say, just in general about running high boost. I "personally" would rather have a car run lower boost, yet still make great HP. And "I" believe that Lindsey did that for me too. And I am curious too, do you have a car now? If so, what is the boost you are running? Have dyno charts so I can see the RWHP & TQ curves? I'd love to see them

And since you "enlightened" me that Rage2 makes a lot of RWHP and his engine can last yrs, then that's great! I am applauding his car! That makes me feel better knowing that if his car can last long, why won't mine? And I can't recall, so forgive me in advance before I get slammed, but what PSI does he run and what RWHP does he make? I can't remember.

Hos: What can you do about all this? Nothing. But thanks

And for the record, we did a dyno run on my car and made 415RWHP @15PSI and on pump gas too. And let's not forget too that I am NOT running a stand-alone too. That in itself could make a huge difference in HP numbers if I had one.

It was meant to be a compliment. I apologize if it came off wrong.

You said it right there, I just wanted to point out that his car truley did last a long time under such extreme conditions (I think on his 2.5L he hit 460rwhp @ 28psi!!!), which should make all of us 951 owners happy. I agree as well that Lindsey did a great job on your car, especially because you are able to run such low boost numbers and still put out an amazing amount of hp (despite how my post sounded, I agree with the fact that this is a much safer setup in general).

As far as my car, I am about to pick it up from Promotion Racing in Miami on May 14th. Unlike the majority here, I am not all about big hp and dyno charts. I had a 951 custom built for me that I felt had enough hp for my liking (should be about 400hp @ the flywheel), as well as having a custom interior, a nice overall exterior appearance, and numerous upgrades to the suspension. I was looking for what I would consider to be a great overall street car. Give it two weeks and I will be sure to post pictures and a list of modifications.

Sorry for any miscommunication.

hehe finally gonna chime in here. RolexNJ, awesome. That's all I have to say. High boost/race gas is overrated heh. With your combo, right injectors, and good tuning, I'd say you can make over 500whp on pump gas with no problems.

Race gas sucks, the fun last only so long till the race gas drum is empty lol. I'm all about pump gas now, running around 18psi slightly north of 400whp, maybe 420? Haven't dyno'd at 18psi though, too much fun everyday haha. 2.8L all of a sudden seems not enough hehe.

Guess I'll have to start shopping again haha.

Default Quick question after reading all of this.

Someone mentioned 400+RWH with engine longevity and I currently have my car at a race/dyno shop getting it tuned and they're saying 375RWHP is pretty much the most I can get out of this engine and have it reliable for the track. The shop has won quite a few tribute to lemans races with their 951's so I kind of have to believe them. Anyway so I'm curious if anyone with 400+RWHP and 18+ Boost tracks their car on a regular basis and has found it to be reliable? (Do you also run race fuel only at the track?) I plan on continuing to do POC time trials with my car (30 min sessions or so each run) and really don't want to blow up my new engine after a few months at the track so if 15PSI is really what I should be running when the engine is going to be at 5000+ RPM for 30mins or longer then I'd like to know now.

Thanks, Brent

Ladies and Gents, as another teaser I present to you the Dyno shootout tropies for 944fest 05. I have 6 of these babies, big car/first place and hot wheels size car/second place. First and second place will be awarded in these catagories: 1.Force fed, pump gas. 2.Normally aspirated, pump gas. 3. Unlimited (Nitro, Nitrous, race fuel, Jato, Bowtie, H2O, Estes, etc.)

could anyone elighten me as to what jato is?
