Default Claus Groth

I went to the Long Beach Grand Prix today, and much to my surprise one of the drivers in the Trans-Am division was 'Claus Groth,' who (I think) was in first place a while before he crashed. (1) Was that you, and if so (2) are you okay?

Wasn't him. The guy you're thinking of was driving a Mustang and his name was Claus Grauss or something - close, but not the same (I actually kind of laughed at the similarity). There wasn't a P-car to be found anywhere in that field.

Yeah, I figured maybe he had another race car besides the 951. Anyways, good to hear.

I missed the end of the TA race - bummer to hear he wrecked though. Did that guy with the red Z06 ever get back on the track or did he have to forfeit due to his car falling apart? I'm suprised (shocked, really) that he didn't get black-flagged for that!

I only stayed for about 20-30 minutes after TA started.
I was pooped!

It was my first time at any race and it was amazing.
Next time I'll be sure to get earplugs...

I missed the Long Beach Grand Prix because I was at Buttonwillow this weekend. I wish that I was good enough to compete in the LBGP. Glad to say that I didn't crash. I did, though, blow another cv joint. That makes three. I'll have to spend the $1100 for the GKN units.

Claus,
Are you clamping the small ends? I was blowing them every weekend, in fact I blew 3 at the Parade club race. I stopped putting the band clamps on the small ends and haven't blown one since.

Eyal,

If you get really bored you could come help me finish mine, finally at the tuning phase.

Well sort of local I'm about 2 hours North of you in San Luis Obispo. I'll cover fuel and food expenses in trade for someone that knows more about tuning and building 951 track cars. I have a great shop to work on it too.

I'm no expert on tuning. I know basics. I'm more a suspension guy... I geuss labor is all I really have to offer.

That works too I have a new set of racing control arms to install and camber plates so you might come in real handy there. I also have a lot of questions about what to do with my rear torsion bars since I have bilstein coilovers in the rear with 400lb springs. Anyway Bilsteins are installed all the way around just need to install camber plates, get the thing corner balanced and the aligned right.

let me know, Brent

one thing I don't know well is torsion bars, I know newer style suspension. If you really want me to come up and help I could do that! Bilstein coilovers? Escort cup? thats my planned setup. You happen to have any old konis or something laying around? maybe a used map/maf too?
