I don't like th new Porsche names, all of them sound a bit silly for a sports car, especially one build by Porsche. The design looks pretty cool overall.

I like it from the front, the tailights look funny in the second picture, but that could just be the angle. I think its actually pretty cool if it performs like a porsche.

Nasty. I do like the Cayman though, but what happened to the numbers?

Actually, they are just running out of 9 series numbers. As for the car - in my opinion it is ugly. Looks like a stretch 911 with 4 doors to me.

Maybe they could race it in NASCAR with the monte carlos. At least they'd be racing!

You think this is some sort of April Fools joke from the car mags?
Denial isn't going to help us... we're being sold out!

Porsche should have created a "sister" brand for it's high end utes and sedans, Like Ferrari has Maseratti, Honda has Acura, etc..

Oh well, as long as it keep the ship afloat...

So the other day I saw a '96 911 Turbo, as it had been a few months since I had seen a 993 in person. I finally agree with the majority that always say the newer 911s (996 and up) are nowhere near as nice as the older 911s (993 and older).

Basically what I am trying to say is, WHAT IS PORSCHE DOING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

bad, I have to agree that the 993 is by far the best looking 911 ever built especially the turbo and turbo S. The four door is ok, but why get away from the sports car thing? That is what they have always done and that is what they need to stick with. Just my opinion.

At the end of the day Porsche is trying to build cars to make money. The utes are selling regardless of our opinion of them. The four door may be their latest hope to compete with BMW. They have a shiny new V8 that can go in more than just the truck.

What pisses me off is when they stop racing to fund the new cars. Racing is where the legend was built for Porsche. The fact that they turn their backs on it is just unacceptable. Heck even the new Multi Matic Mustang (Autoweek article this week) is eating the 911's in the Grand Am series and you can buy that for about $120,000.

Just remember the 944/951/928 wasn't readily accepted by the Porsche crowd early on either but at least they could race it.

The new 997 is a nice machine - I have seen a few up close - its not limp like the 996. It is very exotic looking from the rear.
