RedLine Heavy Duty Gear oil ?
Sorry for poor language.
I have bougt the Redline heavy duty Gear oil after 2 gone gearboxses. (the last gearbox got a leak in a seeling). A friend ment he had some old documention for the friction reduction addtitives in this oil who was not so good for all the metalls in the gearbox.
I have read on the redline WWW page, and they clame that this oil is good for the S.rings.. Is there any precations to use this oil? Anything?
(otherways i have only heard positive things about the oil, bot none who have used this for street cars over several years (the car have 6 mht in the garage each year)
Best regards Lars

I run Heavy Shockproof in all my transmissions, sometimes mixed 50/50 with 75w90NS.
The friction modifier your friend probably read about is for LSD clutch-plates. On a new clutch-type LSD I would run 75w90.

thanx
But he did not ment the LSD but some other parts. I read that Redline says the oil is good for the syncro rings.. so what should i be? .. hmm .. anyway I cange mya gearoil yesterday and had only 4000km on the oil on a brand new gearbox (1988 Silber Rose spec). The oil was much "dirtyer" than I ever would think. Much track days and autoslalom. Off corse the gearbox have to brake in as well but I was suprised.
I have LSD.. should I not drive the Friction modded Redline Heavy ShockProof™ oil?

On used LSDs I run Heavy Shockproof and 75w90NS 50/50.
There are debates whether GL4 or GL5 oil should be used in our transmissions due to synchro material compatibility, that may be what he's seeing. I'd run it - I do run it.
