Derek, if you don't want to go to the pain in the *** of fighting him, at least report him to the local better business bureau. Maybe it'll help someone else down the line. I still say don't pay the *******, but I know it's a bitch to take the time to fight something like this, especially over a reasonably small amount. Still sucks though.

And the beat goes on!

Believe me in the end the fight is not worth it...unless you want to gain experience in this area....move on..and believe me I have gone down this road in just about every arena(still have not found the sign that says insert here).

Post(not sure if moderators allows this) all his info as a warning to others here at least.(where is the fecal roster someone was going to start-webspace anyone?) And do the little things, like BBB (by the way this is a joke-they do less than nothing) Pay with a check and then cancel!!..of course at this point he might be on to you

If it helps any...your car still loves you for trying

Derek, when you get the stuff, let me know. If it is close enough in color to what I have I might be willing to swap for non coated parts. What I have is called signal blue, it is very bright.

Perhaps you should ask Michelle if she'll write a nasty letter for you, at the Rennlist discount. It's AMAZING what a well written letter can do...when signed by your attorney.

Ayee! Derek you should have shipped it all to me brother. Powdercoating is a tricky thing, however if a color looks dark on paper/samples IT IS DARK . Don't let him jerk you around, Tiger(the powder we use on most small order parts) sends out fold outs that contain color name/numbers and samples and they will look like that on whatever we paint.

Powdercoating can take up to about 400 degrees, but if it is sustained then the powder will start to rebake and cause it to overcook and can make some colors look nasty. There are High Temp options, but very few shops do them just based on the process. They contaminate all other paints, causing discoloration.

Incase you didn't know, my family owns a powdercoating shop and I've worked in it for four years now.

Thanks Matt. I will snap some pics tomorrow of what I have and what it looks like. If it looks similar we can meet up.

Derek, put it on your card, then dispute charges, or refuse charges.

Yup, You can get black and silver that handles up to 1400 degrees. I can't remember how hot calipers get but I am pretty sure under spirited driving they will go way over standard PC heats.

Someone measured my brake temperatures at 550 degrees F with a pyrometer this was after some serious driving. I have heard of guys boiling brake fluid.

That means he baked it at 400 degrees. Which means the powder should handle between 325 and 350 before hitting it's melting point at 385 to 400...

You can search google for caliper paint or get it at any auto parts store. This would save you a headache or you could just take your chances with the powder. If you don't plan on racing or hitting some mountain roads you will be fine.
