Bill,

Put me down for one, since it fits an '86 turbo... I PM'd you with my address and phone number.

Nice work. It'll go into my crate of upgrades for the future...

Pat

Finally, Griffin engineering is complete!

The final price will be $365 + shipping. Taxes will only be applied to South Carolina residences.

Apparently Scotty, my sales rep at Griffin quoted the $365 price without engineerings input, so he got his rear end chewed because that is cheaper than they want to sell the radiator. I was disappointed when I got this info, but the bright side is Griffin will honor the quoted price of $365. Scotty says that the average price for shipping should be around $20.

Anyone that wants to back out of this deal, send me a PM. Otherwise the list below will be the final list of approved group buy participants. I will fax all your shipping instructions to Scotty tomorrow and authorize the fabrication of the first two prototypes. Once I receive the prototypes, I will install one in my 86 and one in cas951's 88ts. If the install goes well, I will notify all of the approved list to contact Scotty at Griffin to complete the group buy.

And I guess we can all revel in the fact that we have received a "better" than the best deal from Griffin. I can't wait to get my Griffin radiator!

THE PROTOTYPE IS IN PRODUCTION!

Well it looks like I will not get the good deal after all. Since this order is only for one unit, I had to pay $575. It will take 2 1/2 weeks to fab and ship.

I am going to ask cas951 to also buy a high dollar prototype so we can have test installations in both an 86T and 88TS cars. If cas951 does not want to do this I will understand.

Since Scotty (Griffin sales rep) got his rear chewed about the low price, he is being very cautious. Scotty said that once the full group purchase is made, Griffin will refund the overcharge for the prototypes.

SO DON'T FLAKE ON ME GUYS!

Just kidding. I am glad that I was able to facilitate this great deal, and suprisingly popular purchase.

I'll do it since I already committed. 2 1/2 week to produce? Does this mean delivery in April 8 ~ time frame? This will be a delay on installing the prototype since I will be out of town for the next 2 1/2 weeks. I'll be back in town on April 22. I'm Hawaii bound for 2 weeks April 7-21 for my Daughters wedding. This will mean prototype will not be installed on my car untill the weekend of April 23. Bill I'll call you.

Ed, I have no worries!

Just spoke to cas951 and he is going to order the second prototype, full price. Thanks cas951!

All we can do now is wait for the shipment. So I guess this post may drop off the front page for a while, but I will be in contact with Griffin to bug them, and assure that they get the prototypes to us as soon as possible. As I get new information, I will post.

Thanks again to everyone. Group buying power, Rennlist rocks!

Bill,
I wouldn't mind stepping up to the plate for my '88 951. I'm looking to run the car in April, so if I can get it sooner, and get the refund on the back end, I'm good with that.

Thanks,
Jon

Jon,

Since Griffin quoted us such a low price, the only way it will work for them is to make a single production run of the larger quantity. I had to press them to do a prototype, but in the end it also made sence to them to QC and avoid any dissatisfied customers.

I could have set this up differently, but this was the feed back that I got from the board. Also if for some reason the board goes wacky, cas951 and I are stuck for the full price. No back end refund. Since I started all this, I am ok with this risk and apparantly so is cas951.

I called Griffith and placed my order for the full price. The only issue I have is I won't be able to install it till towards the weekend of April 23.

cas951,

Thanks for helping out the board on this.

So there you have it, cas951 and I will QC the prototypes. One on an 86T and the other on an 88TS. The 88TS will be installed when cas951 gets back from HAWAII (life is rough). This will cover all the bases. Once installed, all the rest of the group will be assured of a high quality, direct bolt in radiator.
