While you guys are at it, has anyone measured how much additional capacity it carries over the stock one?

Michelle JD,

You are welcome.

Boy you are doing a lot of work on your car. And from what I have seen in your posts, looks like you are doing it the right way! Always a good idea to install a new cooling system with a new motor.

From your picture, I do not see a drain plug in the lower drain outlet. Did Griffin ship one? The prototype did not come with one. I asked Griffin to supply one with the "production" radiators since the factory plastic plug did not fit the Griffin outlet. Scotty said he would see to it. If not, just go to your local hardware store (I went to Orchard Supply) and get a bolt with matching threads and a rubber washer like I did. I also put a metal flat washer on top of the rubber washer to assure a good seal. Or call Scotty and chew him out! I will gladly do this for anyone.

Mike S,

Griffin engineering estimated a 15 to 20% increase in cooling capacity over stock. This is achieved via the all aluminum construction and tube design. The physical dimensions are the same between the two radiators. This was done to assure the Griffin radiator was a direct bolt-in unit.

Dan 87951,

Looks like the girl in your avitar is just as excited about it as you are!....Or does she just have to pee really bad!

To those of you who have received your unit:

Do you have some fins on either side of the unit that are pressed down a little, or a fin along the edge that is turned up? I have both, albeit not terrible, I would not have expected to see this at all.

Just curious if this is normal, or if I'm alone here.

Thx...

simmomi,

The prototype arrived unmolested. From what I can see in Michelle JD's photo, it does not appear as though her radiator fins are bent. Probably occured with the shipper. It does supprise me though. Griffin did box the radiator extremely well. Should not be a problem as long as the tubes or tanks are not damaged. Just take a flat blade screwdriver and straighten the fins.

There's an allen screw in there (1st pic).

Simmomi:
Some of my fins were bent a little too (2nd pic).

Default West coast and waiting

Dave E "Hey!! Scotty told me I was #16!!!"
Your right Dave E. When I called a second time to check the status I was told I was #17. I was also given a tracking no# and my unit was in Hodgeskin, Ill. this morning about 10:30 and is to arrive Tuesday.
What about some pictures for us West coasters who have to wait for everyone else to get theirs. Is anyone taking pictures of the uninstall/ reinstall process?
