I've turbo'd a couple of bikes. One was a Harley and the other a Ducati. I would say you are starting this project a little late for this winter. Get ready to waste allot of pipe and spending some "quality time" with your mig. Oh yeah, a pocket full of Benjamins is going to help.

Not that much...a fuel pressure regulator, bigger fuel pump,BIG main jets, loads of hose clamps,a T03 turbo, stainless tubing for the manifold, some aluminium tubes and sheetmetal,a suitably sized I/C-core,various hoses for oil/vacuum/boost lines, and a 2mm thick cylinder base spacer to lower the compression a bit....tougher clutch springs and a dump valve. You WANT the dump valve...let off the throttle when shifting gears and the engine braking almost puts you on top of the handlebars...it's soooo much easier to ride with one. How I know? I have a GSX-R 1100'86...been turbocharged since '95..for the last 5 years it has been a 1342cc Turbo EFI running 25+ psi...on a T04 turbo. Or,you just buy a complete kit from www.mc-xpress.com ...they are located in Sweden, but they have distributors in the US. Most probably Erik Marklund, who runs the shop,is one of the best turbo-bike builders in the world...he's been turbocharging bikes for 20+ years, and has a 685 hp Hayabusa running 34 psi on gas to his credit...

Don't bother. Sell it and go buy a new GSXR1000. 156hp at the wheel!! (or was it 165????)

Either way, I'm completely lost as to how you could ever use that much power in a 400lb. machine (short of an airport runway.)

The 600 could weigh even less and have 180 to the wheel...

No problems at all...whenever you don't give it a handful, you'll only have about 3 psi of boost...so it runs like a stock bike all the time...unless you whack it,of course I've ridden mine on a lengthy vacation trip...with my GF on the back and saddlebags..no probs at all. (not even bruised kidneys..) On the other hand...riding alone,I've had 145 mph power wheelies...while trying to keep it down. You charge a bike properly, you end up with a stock bike and a monster in the same package.
