Nope I didn't. The 3" system from Lindsey reduces to 2.5" (or whatever) where it attaches to the turbine, doesn't it? To be quite honest, I did ask for a shipping quote from SFR on the full 3" system, but the only answer I got was "Shipping depends on which carrier we use". My god what an idiotic answer. Did SFR really think that was the answer I wanted? Dave gave me a quote within 45mins so I ordered from him. John (Vitesse) wasn't sure if the 3" DP was worth the money anyway, so I went with the standard 3" system.
I hope I will be satisfied with ~320rwhp. If not, it's only money, right?

951kid, I too was able to wrap the X-over and down-pipes with them installed, but you have to be able to hold your breath (or get a mask), since they shred a lot of fibers when manipulated (at least my wrap did).

Special Tool, nice numbers indeed with +400HP.

THAT is a GOOD point. That stuff gave me a mild reaction on my forehead, where the particals were falling. It is very irritating.
It also smells like **** and smokes like your aunt Alice for 10 minutes when you first start it up.

Tell me about it, the mechanic thought something went wrong with the oil sump gasket installation........

He then read the instructions and it pointed out that some smoke and smell is normal for the first start-up (very smart guy, reads teh instructions AFTER installation)

The HP seems about right at 24psi. How much do you think the cam is giving you? I am making a "pretuned" 320RWHP at 18psi (running insanely rich (11:1) and retarded timing (circa 16 degrees)).

Nz - I know you don't want to hear this, but I did that 405 run with a broken #2 header pipe. Broken, as in - came apart in 2 pieces when I took it out. 2 huge cracks in my crossover, also. I have pics. This is what I am saying about those heat shields - you can take out a COMPLETELY broken header and not know it because the shields hold them together.
When I did that run, I wasn't getting 15 psi until 3700 RPM.

In hindsight, this is also the reason I had such late spoolup with my little k27/6 - which I made public here, also.

I'll have you know that she is the life of the retirement home, and she'll tell ya so in her best Nick Nolte voice. Besides, someone has to service the place, now that it's full of those little blue pills.

Unreal story about the exhaust headers. That will be addressed in my rebuild for certain. Damn the list is getting long, and more expensive.

Interesting stuff! That explains the late spool for sure. Do you think the leak was effecting peak HP?
