that Story is scary man! Similar but MUCH less crazy accident with me in my little ford festiva. Driving on a STRAIGHT and FLAT road. Ice storm and im going about 20 mph. All of a sudden the rear end drifts off to the side. I go to counter steer and it kicks out the other way i swivel back and forth about 3 times trying to correct my self and i end up doing 720 missing guard rails next to a river, a mail box, and a garage!! and i ended up in some guys lawn. I guess thats what i get for driving a 1500 pound car. Hope you can find some replacement in some way (even though it'll never be the same.)
Sad story man im just glad to see you are alright!

yes. and about 15 minutes prior the road was dry and the weather was clear. there are actually signs on the side of the road that say 'sudden weather changes' and i had no idea it meant that sudden.

Sounds like you drove right into the black ice. It can't really form that fast, unless of course, you got freezing rain, then it can. Such terrible luck, and such a terrible loss.
On the up side, you are alright.
Good point about the window tint. I was in a car once, got shot with a pellet gun, the entire window shattered, but the tint kept the pellet from going through, and the glass from coming in on us. Goes to show why some people pay for high quality window tint

Yes it's scary. When you take the highway from Hope to Kelowna during the winter time, anything can happen. I drove it once with my 91 C2 and I can assure you that praying helps. You are so lucky to be alive.

I used to go to college in Kelowna, and I've travelled the Coq so many times that I know the whole highway by heart now.
One time, just past Merrit on the way to Kelowna, I was about 200' behind a Pathfinder... I watched it fishtail, and ROLL into a ditch in front of me. I pulled over to help. When I got out of my car, I promptly fell flat on my ***, as there was black ice everywhere.!!!

Wow I'v just read the whole story. You must be guted, and not having too much good luck! I can only really compare the feeling with when after 2years of saving I bought myself a mini cooper only to roll the car and write it off 3days later on a mountain road! That was my stupidity and bad driving!! Still brough a swelling of tears to see the wreck a 2 weeks later! I can only say atleast you have the rest of your life to recover and find other car to love. Thats something to be greatful for.
