Besides, I'm not sure how much the nylon cable tie would like epoxy or if epoxy would even hang onto the nylon for long. And a normal cable tie is pretty hard to undo without ruining it.
Additionally, nylon isn't exactly the finest material in the world so the less you mess with it, the better. Ever seen an industrial bag of cable ties? There is a warning on them to the effect to not use the ties if the bag has been punctured. Why? The ties dry out and become brittle. So always keep your unused ties in a zip lock bag and add a little bit of water to keep the humidity high.
I don't know why manufacturers decided on nylon for cable ties in the first place, guess it must have been cheapest.

I asked my mechanic (Schneider Autohaus) for some of those and he found some in a big catalog, which looked identical (re-lockable), but with a minimum order quantity of 100. That happens to be more, than I can stick on my car in the next 10 years.
The re-usable feature is something that prior mechanics seem to have overlooked, so most of them are just clipped.
So are you guys interested in buying what I don’t need? I don’t recall the unit price, but they were quite reasonable.

Laust, why don't you take care of this little project. Just make sure the ties are going to work over the studs and are long enough before you go and order too many. The relockable feature really isn't all that important since you probably have a 50-50 chance that they will break trying to unlock them after a couple years of aging.

Well, I got some (=100) tie-wraps, but not re-usable, not designed exactly for this purpose and a little awkward to install, but they work and are far better than nothing.
I’ll sell the rest as 4 batches 20 for $12, all included. Just let me know via PM if you are interested.

Laust, those are the standard stud mount ties. Something under a dime each when you buy a bunch. You need a nut to make them work right.
People can get those anywhere, it is the push on stud ties that are the problem to find. If I do another battery cable build I'll order extra ties from Germany. I'll sell them for a buck each with the shipping.

Iceshark,
I was tired of waiting for my mechanic to get those I originally saw a picture of, so I bought these.
It is true that they are designed to be used with a screw, but since they are compliant and I chose the hole to be smaller than the outer diameter of the thread, they can be screwed on and used as shown without a nut.
But by all means do buy the “real ones” and offer them for sale. However I am satisfied with my fully adequate solution.

Laust,
I understand the frustration ..... you wouldn't believe how many hours I spent on those damn ties.
But now that I have them sorted out, one may as well use the originals. It is a pretty small cost considering all the rest you need to pay for.
I'll keep sending them out with the battery cable packages and not short cut.
