R74 Touring Suspension Opt ???anyone???
Did a search and could not get an answer as to what this package includes. It is on my window sticker for about $1800.00 in 86. Does anyone know if this includes any 030 sport suspension parts? THX

Three Wheelin'
All 1989 951s came standard with M030. It should show up on your option code sticker. Maybe a "touring" suspension would be the softer non-M030 suspension. Do you have the height-adjustable front struts?

How about a simple misprint,if it read 474 ( as M474 ),it would make sense... That's an real suspension option,Koni sport shocks.

R74
There was an Option code "R74" which I too have been unable to determine what it included.
I believe it was called a "Touring Pkg" but not a Touring Suspension Pkg.
even the annual Porsche code books that I've checked did not indicate the contents of this pkg.
this is a case for Inspector Clouseau

Sorry,I have to admit that I was wrong...but just once, this will not happen again...
R74 is a "Touring Package",from Porsche Exclusiv -program,but don't ask me what this package includes, because even my source :
http://www.adrianstreather.com/docs/Options.pdf
doesn't know.
If some estimate from the price can be made,it is cupholders and map pockets...

BTW, R74 is an option code used on 911s as well. I'm sure someone in those forums would know. The 911 option may not contain exactly the same components, but it would at least give you an idea.

Thanks guys...This is not for my 89. It was an option on my 86 I just sold. I beleive the window sticker said "sport/touring package" $1800.00. The car had sport seats and fuch's wheels, but were listed seperatly on the window sticker. The car road VERY firm, just like my 89 . Anyhow I told the guy it had sport suspension, like I beleived. I never did look under the car to see if it had Koni's on it. Now, over 2 months later this guy emails me and says the car does not have any type of sport suspension, and wants me to be held liable. If I do not help him out he said he will sue me for misrepresenting the car. Ugggg

"Sporting Suspension"
Tell him it has a "sporting suspension" like all sports cars do...
and refer him back to the window sticker and if Porsche doesn't tell you what it is then how could you be expected to know
and then tell him you're a personal friend of Johnny Cochran

cooz sounds right...
plus you did represent the car to the best of your knowlege
it doesn't sound like you went into any other details besides "sporting"
it's basically going to be your word vs his
and when you sell a car, isn't it buyer beware anyways? (besides things like smog, or knowingly rolling back the odo, etc)
Those are just my ideas though, and I'm obviously not a lawyer.
