Default #8 vs. #10 hotside, whats the diff....

What is the difference or visual difference between a #8 and a #10 hotside, I am switching to a #10, but they seem to be identical...

I'm sure some one knows...

Thanks

One is stamped with an 8 and the other a 10

they do look similar, here is a 6 and a 10, easier to see the change

There is no 8 or 10 stamped, just a "T" (maybe for turbonetics). I bought it from Lindsey so I figure its is a #10 but they sure look the same. Is the difference in the housing where the air flows because all 3 openings line up (same size) directly to my #8.....

Thanks

Inside the turbine housing where the cross-over pipe mounts, it should be stamped there, unlesss it has been ground off.

POWER!!!

For track cars, as long as you can drive decently there's no reason to give up HP for spool - it's the opposite situation for a street car.

Our cars are not high reving engines... that wont give you much fun! Lets hope its for a totally dedicated track car.

Yes, but wouldnt a 2.8L or a 3.0L turbo just basically get rid of all that lag. It would more act like a #8 on a 2.5L but its a #10 on a larger displacment. But I dont know what this guy is running it on. That is huge though.

Yes it would be better suited to a bigger displacement engine... so do you think a guy that is asking if it actually is a #10 would have gone through the bore process? I hope he knows what he is getting.

Yeah, I hope he knows also. But as far as youre concerned, its probably Lindseys fault right? haha just joking around with you. Everyone knows you hate Lindsey.

Nah I dont hate them, they make some ok products... they just ripped me off. So I got pissy about it. No big deal, you live and learn... I am sure they would not sell this turbo to a guy that uses his car on the street...

Hotside sizing is a picky subject on rennlist

I for one don't have the need for instant power when crusing in 3rd at 1800 rpm. Use the gearbox

With my 3L engine the K27/10(10" hotside) works fine and I haven´t experienced any problem with lag.. Ivé got power all the way!
