Steve, yes they are CCW's. I run 245/275 hoosiers, on 9, and 10's. Anything bigger won't gain any more traction, as I already don't get a full contact patch. At some point I'm going to try adding a 1/2 inch to the outside wheel halfs and increase to 9.5, and 10.5 .

Do you think a 255-40 front would clear the OEM dia. springs in the an early 951 offset? The CCW track wheels seem to have an x-tra wide lip and I'm still not convinced a 245 would provide any curb protection for street use even in a performance tire. I realize the Hoosier's have a very straight sidewall making the tire look a bit inset on the rim leaving the edge of the rim as the outermost point...is that correct?. I would prefer a 245 as my 1st choice if the rim protector even slightly protects the edge of the wheel.
Thanks

Matt, yep. Were you bidding on them too? I'm still trying to figure out what type of wheels they are. I started a tread in the 944/951 section.

2Tight, I really don't know if it will clear the OEM dia. springs. I run 2.5" dia. springs, and have no problem. The Hoosiers have a lip around the tires to protect the wheels. If you’re using street tires a 245/255/265 probably won’t make much of a difference. Curb protection is easy, just park further away.

Is there diffrent body work for the 951's after certain years? For some reason, the flares dont look as prominent, if at all, on some of thsee cars compared to others. Or, is it just angles?

Believe it or not, it's all about the lighting. The angle and intensity of the local lighting can change colour and make the lines of the fenders look sharper or softer. My two cars parked downstairs are a good example of this. one is parked directly under a light and the colours are vibrant and angles are sharp. The other car is parked off to the side, and the colour is dull and so are the angles.

These are some awesome pictures guys. I really want a black car, but after seeing those red ones I may change my mind.

boosted951 - that is one of the best looking red cars that I have seen on the front page. Looks stock, but has very subtle enhancements. love those twist wheels and the red lights. I bet that thing is very fast. Keep up the great pictures guys.

951_VAB - that car looks awesome too.
