Default Anyone else?

Is anyone else tired of all the technical BS that goes around here? There is so much fiction flying around lately, it's scary!!!

Please be careful who you listen to.. There is a lot of incorrect information getting tossed around...

I know what you mean. For instance the other day someone quoted the "type R" sticker as adding 5hp when we all know it adds a minimum of 10 ponies at the rear wheels. We need to weed out these nonsense posts to make room for the good discussions like "can I turbo my NA?" and "will mothballs let me run higher boost?"

This is why, for the most part, unless it is something I've done I keep my mouth shut (in terms of tech. questions).

I always make sure when "talking out of my ***" it is perfectly clear that there can be no possible truth to it.

Seriously though, this is a good point. I have seen a LOT of BS posts lately. A person could spend all day on here just fixing false information. If I am almost sure of an answer but not totally I will refrain from posting anything all or at least cross reference the search function to backup what I think before posting.

duuuuude, you know how i feel about this...unfortunately some people think you're just mean spirited when you ask folks not give technical advice in areas they are not proficient in.

I'm thinking more of the crazy claims that I read about more than the technical advice. Technical advice is excusable, without seeing the car, even experts could be wrong.

In my opinion, there is not one bad question. A bad question is the one that is left unasked and unanswered!!! By no means we should ever discourage people from asking a question, no matter how silly we think it is.. Some people just don't know, and the only way ithey learn is by asking...

However, when people regarded as experts make erroneous claims, it bothers me. A hint, when there are many "buzz words" in a paragraph, and it "sounds" smart, turn on your BS filter!!!!
