I do love that exhaust ... Not to mention the acceleration. What is it, if I may ask, that you have for your exhaust.

and non- Porsche types find it difficult to understand why we like to wind these things up...... Thanks for the great video..... now I wanna go out for a drive somewhere without the cops and traffic.

come up to the Whistler event - even if you dont show or X cross, it's a nice weekend for those who have never been here before.

nice, just imagine 15psi

I am not sure what it is but my car just does not feel super stable in the higher speeds. It is lowered, heavy springs and Koni's all around and for some reason my old NA 944 felt more stable than the 951.

?????????

Maybe it's just that I am older now????

I timed you at hitting 100mph at around 11 seconds. Not too shabby!

Lightened flywheel, yes. Crank is a modified 944 NA crank, stronger, not sure if it's lighter. I know the JE pistons that replaced my stock slugs are a LOT lighter.

so it was at 12 psi?
your stock boost gauge doesn't work because it should have gone to 0 psi at WOT right?
Yep, 12psi. The stock boost gauge isn't even hooked up, it's controlled by the KLR, which my car doesn't use no more hehe.

Hoping to push that amount of power.
12psi 323whp on a mustang dyno, about 360whp on a dynojet.

Modified stock exhaust. I cut out the cat and welded in a straight pipe. The wastegate dumps straight out, bypassing the muffler. Welded shut the pipe where the stock wastegate exhaust merges. Car sounds stock when driving easy, get on the boost and it sounds like a monster.

hehe can't wait till I turn up the boost. I think I can hit 18psi on pump gas, which would make it pretty darn fast heh.

When do you reach full boost with your new turbo?

It looked like it really started to pull @ 4300-4500 in 1st - how much lower RPM is full boost reached in the upper gears? Very impressive for only 12 psi

Rage,
Do you have any sort of muffler on you WG dump tube or does it vent strait to atmosphere? Also where do you run the WG dump under the car? Behind the passenger front tire?

Thanks,
John

Yea, it looked a bit decieving because I was completely off the throttle in 1st, then punched it, which took longer to spool up. But to answer your question, I get full boost in 3rd gear around 3300rpm, 2900rpm in 4th, 2700rpm in 5th.

It vents straight to atmosphere. I had a small motorbike supertrapp muffler there before, but it kept melting. So now, it's just a short 6 inch pipe that directs the exhaust straight down to the ground. Wasn't sure about aerodynamic effects of exhaust gas at high speeds, but I've never had a problem, and have run the car at over 260km/h at the track without any stability issues.

Yeah, I think I'll go hide in my stock Turbo S (except for chips).

That was awesome! I was blown away by how quickly you accelerated from 70-100... All 951s do well in that area, but yours is unbelievable!
What kind of turbo do you have feeding that 2.8 big bore? (I'm sure that most people already know, but I'm a new kid on the block...) I can't wait to see more videos when she is fully boosted... We'll be waiting!
