Let me guess, must be a GT30 series
turbo. Chris, are you using wet sleeve
or dry sleeve set up ?
Thanks

As Hertz would say "not exactly". It's a Garrett turbo, it's expensive, it's also very effcient. The motor is wet sleeved with an oring in the top of the sleeve with a receiving groove in the head.

Very impressive. At what rpm was your peak torque?

Chris Prack 04-02-2004 11:24 AM

About 5600 rpm.

If not GT series I suppose it's the T-series. Would be extremely interesting to know the full specs but understand if you want to keep them secret!

toddk911 04-02-2004 12:23 PM

Tried any VATN turbos???

2+2 04-02-2004 12:27 PM

Is this the turbo for which you made that slick little adapter plate to mount?

Chris Prack 04-02-2004 12:34 PM

YES.

Chris, what kind of money to set up a block like that. Somewhere in the 5K range?

Hi Chris,
Do you sell the sleeve & pistons ?
Regarding sleeves, are you using
Dartons integrated Deck sleeves ?

Thanks

No sorry. This is real.

Matt, somewhere in the 4-5k range.

JChen, I will check. I don't recall off the top of my head.

I still dont get why anyone would want to keep it secret. Doesn't make any sense to me. If you got something good, why not share it?

Maybe I'm totally off base here, but it's pretty annoying. It seems like just bragging rights to me if you don't want anyone to know how you did it.

It's just simple business 101, if you have something good you sell it, not give it away for free. IMHO

It would be kept a secret because we:

a) found and purchased the turbo's = time and money
b) spent a lot of time and money making them fit a 951 as simply as possible.
c) spent a lot of time and money tuning and developing drop in chips and fuel, timing and boost maps for Motec.
d) see David's reply
