hmm, now i'm confused...most of you probably know this already, but anyway...

i went out and checked out my turbo spool-up in 3rd, 4th, and 5th (i'm running an accuboost with bypassed CV). basically, went out and floored it from 2500 rpm in each gear.

in 3rd, 18psi around 4000rpm
in 4th, 18psi around 3500rpm
in 5th, 18psi around 3000rpm

so...danno programs in a lean then rich spot (then 12:1) in the chips so that you get quick spool-up and then lots of fuel to combat detonation, and then a nice power AFR. but how can you do this when the boost curve is so different in each gear? how does the factory do it?

or does the CV control the boost so it's fairly consistent in each gear? or does the factory whack in 10:1 right across the range and leave it at that?

The Accuboost appears to get gets max-boost around 500rpm sooner than the previous Reliaboost & LBE, so I need to make some minor adjustments. I program the lean spot before the earliest onset of boost, that means 5th gear in your car. On the previous TurboS chips, the max-boost RPM lags about 700rpms compared to the non-S cars, so I had put in the lean anti-lag zone about 700rpms later. But in your case, and with all Accuboost-equipped TurboS cars from now on, I'll set the anti-lag lean spot earlier. Sending out your new chip on Monday.

"or does the CV control the boost so it's fairly consistent in each gear?"

The KLR/CV programming doesn't account for gears, so you'll see lower boost in the lower gears with max-boost only developing in 3rd gear and above. The factory programming starts with a 13.0:1 lean-spot around 3000rpm and gets richer to about 11.0:1 by redline in 4th gear. But this will be different for each gear as well.

how many rpm before peak boost is the lean anti-lag spot? in the chips i have atm, the lean-spot is around 3200-400 rpm, and the rich-spot is around 4000rpm. 500rpm earlier would put the lean-spot around 2700-2900rpm, and the rich-spot around 3500rpm. but i'm seeing full boost at 3000rpm in 5th, so shouldn't they be moved about 1000rpm earlier?

have you removed the mounting bracket for the DME/KLR from the car (well, unscrewed it so you can pull it all out into the footwell)? you'll have a hard time finding the plugs if you don't.
Looking through this old post and wondered what the impedence adaptor does. Also is the plug socket a squarer shape than the region coding plug.

Sorry, think I have found it in another old thread IA in place for cars with no cat or O2 sensor,

I'm a bit confused too - Danno, was the 18psi advice of 50/50 pump/race gas meant more for the California 91 octane guys, because you had originally said that the 18psi was ok for pump gas 93 octane with my mods until I installed the MAP, then I would need to go 55# injectors? Could you clarify a bit, as I'd like to turn down my boost if the new advice for 50/50 is correct?
Thanks,
