Original steering wheel for 1986 944 Turbo?
Hello all,
What is the part number for the original steering wheel on a 1986 944 Turbo? Are there dates stamped on there? I'm coming across two different part numbers: 944 347 084 08 and 944 347 084 09 - What's the difference?
Thanks

There were 4 steering wheels options in 1986:
944 347 084 05 380mm leatherette
944 347 084 08 380mm leather
944 347 084 09 363mm leather M431
944 347 084 10 363mm leather elevated hub M018
Pretty sure 944 347 084 09 was stock for US markets in 1986.
Iirc the 380mm was used on manual rack cars to make steering easier as in 86 non power steering was still standard in some row countries. On the elevated hub the steering wheel was closer to the driver.
