Default can anyone ID this car (seen @ Watkins Glen June 14)

um. wow...

This is a still from the Porsche Clash @ The Glen, June 14 somewhere between 3:30-4pm - this car was STUPID FAST, it was lapping cup cars, sounded like a pissed off 747 going by, more turbo/induction noise than i've ever heard from a car in my life...

anyway, can anyone ID the car / who owns it / wtf was done under the hood & to the chassis/suspension???? it's killing me, as i edit my film, all i can do is picture this thing screaming by

Yeah, dude - that is Woody Weisse's car. It has a Milledge 2.6, and it is fast. Rennlister 86944turbo has a similar engine in his STREET car - only his displacement is half a liter larger.

By the way, Woody runs in SCCA'a ITE class, and is therefore grouped with the GT1's (big-boys). Almost evry regional Lime Rock race is won by Frank Tovolachi's GT1 - and Woody cracks open a can of whoop-*** like you've never seen on him coming down the straight. Makes me laugh my Goddamn *** off, every time.

EDIT - okay, maybe he doesn't crack open such a can, but he passes him. This is a full spec GT1 car with 6-700 HP and a REAL tube frame who beats Paul Newman when he shows up in one of Gentilozzi's TRANS-AM cars. Yeah, really.

cool. yeah, it was awe-inspiring seeing that car.

you'd be standing there (in my case, in the hot pits) and it'd go SCREAMING by, spouting flames and sputtering like mad under the heavy braking going into turn 1, then LITERALLY like 2-3 seconds later, the rest of the field woudl be coming down the front straight... absolutely hilarious.

note to self. buy 2nd 951. call JME

Yep, that was fun to watch at the Glen, sub 2:00 laps!
In case you were wondering what is under the hood -

Lots of nice detail work in there!

If it is 2.6 liters I don't know why it is in GT1

There was a thread about this car last Spring. I think there *may* be two different cars, both built by World Wide Motorsports. One was Woody Weiss's and was always a GT3 car. The other one at one point was run by Worldwide - Jason, and now is owned by Steve Savino. It is a 700 hp Milledge engine, I think it's 3.1L that's why it's in GT1. That's #66 above. I think Woody's was #55. I may be wrong on this.

I haven't seen the car above but I have seen the car it beat - the white DeMan 930 - which must be at least 700hp as well. The only car I've seen accellerate like the DeMan car is a 962 - they both sound the same - like jet engines.

The #66 was only 3 seconds off a time by a 962 at the Glen a couple of years ago. Also looking at last year's results he wasn't far behind Kevin Buckler in his pro GT3R at the Road Atlanta club race.

no, um. seriously - you'd have to machine an adaptor from the head to AN, or more likely, to a large metric fitting then get a metric->AN. then somehow do the same on the radiator, although i do believe many non-stock radiators can use AN fittings...

A couple of details you guys might like to know –
Solid lifter cam (look for access port on the side of the cam tower to check valve clearance.
The intercooler took the place of the radiator, it has two smaller radiators on either side.
The barrel valve throttle body / carbon fiber intake is available form JME - $5k or so!
Take a look when the air filter is – neat idea.

PS – nice jaw drop animation!!!

yeah i think tonyG wanted to do something like this / like kokeln's ORCA car when it came to the radiator(s). oh, and re: placement of the air-filter, many highly-modded JDM cars have done that for years... great idea!

Anyone have any video of this car? I'd LOVE to see/hear this beast.

[Great quote by the way.]
