crank girdle studs
I pulled the remaining studs out of the broken RAGE2 engine block. They all came out easily using the double nut method. Nice considering the engine blew up back in early 2000's.
Are people re-using crank girdle studs when they pull them to do sleeves or Nickel Silicon Carbide (NSC) plating process?
I have not come across any talk about these studs on RL or whether or not you can still purchase these studs from Porsche new.
Anyone on here know?

All studs in the 944 block are fine to re-use as long as they aren't damaged from wayward removal efforts. Reinstall with Extreme Pressure Lube #3 at the correct height.

Awesome. Thanks guys. I have a full block of spares now
Also does anyone happen to know what the coating is used on the studs? The black ones that is. Guessing black oxide or zinc coating.

I am thinking Black Chromate is also possible.
Good information video for anyone that does not know anything about plating.
The step in the video where they do the black chromate makes me think the factory studs probably had this done to them.
