Default 60-1 HIFI on my system and Magown

Hello all,

This is just a risk reducing excercise I am undertaking. I am about to buy a 60-1 HIFI with stage 3 wheel (SFR stage 3) for my car. It is bolt on and oil and water cooled. The questions are:

1. Is it a good turbo for quick spool and support 400HP? What are the install issues etc? Do I need any additional parts other than a new j pipe?

2. Is Magown a stand up guy?

TIA

You'll have no problems with Magown, he is definetely a stand up guy.

That combo won't be a quick spool. But it will spool about the same as a stock K26/8 turbo, and the 60-1 HiFi can support up around around 450RWHP on a 2.5L upwards of 500RWHP on a 3.1L

More than enough to fuel your fun....

Sweet, so it meets my long term goals. Any way to reduce the spool up time? My exhaust is reasonably free flow and I have antilag on my Link2... I guess what I am asking is, can I expect it to spool up faster given the mods I have done barring the antilag function...

How does the antilag function work?

No probs with Steven. He'll do you right.

Is that the leaner mixture down low to get a hotter exhaust? Then richen up as boost climbs.

Nope, there are too methods, one keeps the turbo spooling, the other uses a solenoid, not sure exactly how they work, not investigated too much yet. Ask Link.

And here's one more "Stephen Magown is a good guy" post. You'll be happy.

not with a stage 3 turbine

with a #8 and a stage three, expect to see full boost at 3600 if you have relatively open exhaust.

I second Magown being cool, but DEFFINATELY very strange. hehe

So this thing will be rather laggy eh? Can it be modified to be less laggy?

Of course, but he was asking about the assembed unit. Not many people have the time/fundage to play around w/ different exhaust a/r's and turbines to optimize one specific compressor. And if they do, they are d@rn lucky . I would hate to see people misled into thinking that a 60-1hifi mated to a stage III turbine would be capable of making 450+rwhp for a 951 application

dude, this is a BIG compressor .... Save up to run a more appropriately sized GT series FULL garret if you want a quicker spooling, 400rwhp car

Ummmm yesterday? If this is the same lag as a Turbo s, then I guess it would be ok. I dont want to spend 2K on a GT series. Whats the a/r on the SFR stage 3? I am really looking for 1/4 mile speed. Even though it comes on later, it will pushing more air through at the same revs in the k26/6 yeah?
