"Typically full boost is realized at 3300 rpms" This I could handle. Full boost at 3300 rpms. This is on Tim's (SFR) website with respect to the stage 3. What typical conditions need to be met that I dont have to realise full boost at 3300 rpm as is suggested on the site?

that compressor is for moving MUCH MUCH more air than a k26.

stage 3 is the turine 'wheel', the a/r is is denoted by the housing. two different worlds.

btw, you can get a gt series turbo for closer to 1,300

more displacement
Unless sombody accidently slipped a stage 5 wheel on mine, I dont see how that is a realistic number

NZ, I think the solenoid they are talking about is the link boost solenoid. It works just like any other Electronic boost Control, by blocking the signal to the wastegate until it is near fully spooled. Works like a electronic Lindsey boost enhancer.

No, it forces air through the turbo to keep it spinning, IIRC.

So you dont know what the a/r is then... Why would Tim put false figures on his site if what you say is true? Typically he says boost is realised at 3300 rpm. More displacement is not typical.

Boostguy. what you are talking about is the boost hold function. The solenoid holds boost till a preset % of boost pressure is achieved, then it opens.

Run the turbo. You'll love it.

The stage 3 trim will work fine.

Thanks dad! I need that reassurance. You forgot to mention not affiliated with Magown at the end! How much bolt on increase in HP at 15 and 18psi do you think I will get?

I'll vouch for Stephen, he's a good guy, unlike the people I choose to buy from...

Post your dyno chart... let's have a looksie..

Are you running a test pipe?

The stock NZ new one do not come with a cat... I dont run one... just a resonator in the front where the muffler was, and a SS straight through TRR muffler on the back (3" "cat" back also). So, not test pipe. unless you consider the stock pipe a test pipe...

If you are looking for a quick spool turbo - this is not the one. If you are looking for a lot of power, yes, this is the one. I had a SFR stage 2 and it was more laggy than a KKK 27/6. I also had a vitesse stage 2 and is was less laggy than a KKK 27/6. It you want a lot of power with little lag as possible, probably the vitesse stage 3 with quick spool is the way to go. Good luck and I hope that I could be of help.

Dont have a dyno chart scanned, will get one for sure on the next dyno run! After turbo, tial, injectors, ceramic IC pipes, home made catch can (I found the perfect place for it! I am so happy with it! Just in the process of making it now... its gonna rule!)

>>>I want to go fast 1/4 mile...<<<

If you can deal with a little lag in first gear, the car will be real fast through the rest of the 1/4 mile. Once the car is on boost it will be real fast. A smaller turbo will get on boot a little sooner, but after that the the smaller turbo will be slower.

For me.. the lag isn't a big deal.. I just down shift :-)

As always... it's a trade off.

The stage 3 trim should get the turbo spool up pretty fast.

I had the same turbo with the stage 5 trim and it spooled almost exactly like a K26/8 (and the dyno charts reflected this almost exactly).
