I did see one mention of this in a clutch related post, but wanted to spread the word. It's great to see Porsche manufacturing these again, rather than having to repair/refurbish an old fork.
I checked both Sonnen and Sunset, but with shipping included it was slightly cheaper from Sunset for me. Now the question is, do I replace those nice, new needle bearings for brass bushings or install as-is?
Great to hear these are being manufactured again to keep our cars on the road. I just ordered a set of needle bearings. Hopefully I won't need a new clutch fork for a while but good to know they are available.
I have two spare forks....one that came with the car as a spare part that I didn't know I had, and I bought another from DC Automotive when I had an issue with the clutch that I didn't need...LOL.
I had a local-ish gentleman refurbish my original fork for much less and it seems to be working well. Kinda looks like this pic from a related old Rennlist post:
He does the tips, bearings, and sends it out for heat treating, whatever that is. He requires a new pin (to fit the bearings). His thoughts on the needle bearings plus the cost:
"I won't use the needle bearings, they are junk and cause excessive load force on clutch hydraulics. I only use custom Oilite bushings as does almost every other manufacturer.
Rebuild my way is $150usd plus shipping and PayPal fee"

This is what I had done a few years back. A big +bazillion on using the brass bushings instead of the needle bearings. If they had the new forks when I had my clutch apart I would have sent Markus a new fork to work up. Very cool that he is still helping us out with this!
For reference, I ordered the "Oil-Embedded SAE 841 Bronze Sleeve Bearing for 16 mm Shaft Diameter and 22 mm Housing ID, 16 mm Long" (Item 6658K34) from McMaster-Carr, pressed them in myself and had them honed by a machinist. They'll need honed because they slightly lose form when they're pressed in and the shaft can't freely slide in/out.
I'm seeking help identifying the part# of this Blaszak fork. I originally ordered this from Markus a number of years ago for my 86 951, using a fork sent to him by another 944T Rennlister on my behalf. I thought it was the 944T fork pictured above in the first post, but the SN on my fork is not the same. It appears to be something like (951)-116-835?-15 but is difficult to make out clearly.
Can anyone identify this fork? And will it fit a 944T?
