MAP Mounting

Can't upload a pic for some reason, but mine is installed exactly as shown on Lindsey Racing’s web site. Go to their “Tech Garage” section and select installation instructions for the M-Tune MAF Kit. Pretty straight forward. |

I Did this a long time ago, A piece of 3" Tube into the Stock intake boot and then a 3" Coupler to the MAF. I took a piece of alu and mouted it to the crossbar and then made a "Heat Shield" that sheilds the front of the engine, and the rad heat from getting to it. The air that it does get has passed through the intercooler. I like it becasue its clean, Cheap, Easy and my air filter doesnt get smashed into the inner fender and doesnt interfere with the headlights at all. ( I have that sort of system on my other car)

MAP, not MAF.
I have mine zip tied as shown in Lindsey's Tech Garage, it's a less than elegant solution. Just wanted to see where others have mounted their MAP sensor. |
Sorry My Bad, my street cars dont have a map, But my Track car does, (standalone) Its on the Exit pipe of the inter-cooler before the TB...

Typically you'll want to keep the pressure sensing hose short to reduce response times. Anywhere around a foot or two would be fine (we're talking milliseconds). Also try to avoid direct mounting it to something that gets hot.
I had my GM style MAP direct mounted to the two center intake manifold runners. This was causing a heat soak condition when parking the car at operating temperature for 15 or so minutes, then starting it again. It would start okay then stall out within a minute. To get it running again, I would have to leave the hood open for a few minutes to vent the heat. Separating the MAP sensor body from the runners eliminated this issue. Your best options would be on the fire wall, or up near the throttle body. |

Mount it higher to the manifold so water vapor drains back to the manifold and not your sensor. |
