Rusted inlet to muffler - fixable?

The connection of the inlet pipe to my aftermarket catback muffler has rusted away, as shown below:

Is this fixable? Or is the metal too thin to weld? Thanks.

I'd replace it. You could probably put some patch metal around it or something, but it will still be rusty inside. My original muffler dropped onto the highway and dragged along at 60mph from the same basic thing... That was fun.

Get a magnaflo

I think that's what I have... Only lasted about 4 years.

Nah, what you have now is a cheap muffler. It's galvanized or aluminized with rolled case seams. Magnaflow will be stainless with a fully welded case. You can also get other brands to that are not stainless to match your non stainless exhaust tubing. Just be sure look for fully welded construction and a straight through flow design (not baffled). If you want to use your existing exhaust tubing, and have the tail pipe located correctly, you'll also have to match the inlet/outlet offset of your existing muffler.

Upon closer inspection, the inlet to the muffler wasn't actually rusted; it looks like it just broke away from the muffler as a result of an impact (my car sits quite low). My new neighbor, a fellow car enthusiast, has a welder, so he kindly welded it back for me, and so far, so good. It's probably just my imagination, but the engine seems to run a little smoother, and rev a little more freely.
