Default Lanzante, they should put one in a 944
Lanzante Is Putting Actual '80s Formula 1 Engines Into Porsche 930s and iirc wasn’t the 944 initially planned to have a V6, this one will do just fine.

I should imagine they are redesigning the intake to make it fit into the rear of the 930, without a sump (dry) and a different intake idk.

Both a V6 and I5 were considered. Niether was the solution Porsche wanted to address complaints of the 924's engine.

This one might fit simply because it is so small.

Intake stays mostly the same. Inlet angle and MAF sensor location are changed. New ignition too, coil-on-plug.

Sump pictured is already dry.

Yes that’s what I was pointing out, it really cannot be that high with that dry sump. It’s certainly period correct

The Lanzante website shows the engine history for one motor as lasting 3 seasons, 84 to 87 and now days they complain about having to use 3 motors a year - no wonder the racing is crap. After watching F1 for almost 40 years I think the eighties were the best, although 18,000 rpm was pretty good and the corner speeds these days are amazing.

If I had of known I could buy a Niki Lauda motor I would sell my house and live in my car.
