My cooling fan is a pain in the ***
so basically my porsche 944 turbo cooling fan won't turn off after turning off my car. It stays on until my car battery dies. I did some research that points to a thermoswitch or cooling fan relay problem ,but I don't know. I need help
ps. where do I find the thermoswitch

Burning Brakes
It's usually the thermoswitch in the radiator. Fortunately they are fairly cheap compared to the fan relay.
If you have an ohm meter you can test the switch to see if the contacts are closed when it is cold.
I believe they were designed to fail closed, better to have a dead battery then a cooked engine!

Ah yes, the radiator fan switch. This actually brings back positive memories for me, as this issue led to the purchase of my 951. About 12 years ago, I was carless, looking for a 951 or 911SC (back when a rough 911SC was still quasi-affordable). I was about to take Amtrak to the Bay Area to buy a rough Baltic blue 951, sunroof delete, sports seats LSD, etc. A customer '86 951 got towed in with a dead battery due to a shorted radiator fan switch. A few weeks earlier the car had been in for water pump/belts/front engine seals and the owner mentioned it was for sale, but the car was really nice and he wanted a lot for it.
As I looked under the car while replacing the switch, I noticed that it had LSD and factory Koni sports shocks, in addition to the sports seats. I was sold. I scrounged some money together, made an offer, and bought the car! Even better, I had been paid for the water pump/belt/seal job a few weeks earlier!
Sorry for the OT, couldn't resist. If you get a fan switch, check the temperature range. The low temperature ones are really annoying, they make the radiator fans run all the time, which is hard on the battery/charging system.
