Picture of the A Post. without the windshield. From right to left interior trim, urethane bead ,Aluminum "L" section and painted sheet metal sheet of A post
Any idea if I need to remove the aluminium? If I just put in the screen there will be a 10mm gap along the top and the A post sides ,Do I need the trim 9444 559543 03 to hold the trim finisher and correctly space the windshield?
Some out there must have replaced a screen on a 87 44T

FYI there are high quality chinese glass being produced for these cars. Even PPG is manufacturing glass in China. about 5 years ago I had a chinese windshield installed in my 951 (with tint at top) for $250 CDN and it looks the same as Sekurit or Sigla.
good luck!

I had a Windshield put in my 86 last year.. They had to order it from Germany then it got in and realized they had ordered the wrong one (no tint) … it was $1100 Thank god for glass coverage.. I did buy a new splash shield that covers the wiper motor and blower and gave it to the glass guy when he put it in... Man these things are expensive..

I assume it had the antenna? Man that's expensive. I don't want to claim it and risk the insurance hike

Yes it had the Antenna... and they don't raise rates because of that... its considered "act of god" just like deer hits.. The Funny thing is.. about 3 weeks later I passed a truck and WACK … Stone Chip, Called that glass company and they were able to Fix it before it cracked... cant even see it..What are the odds considering I put Maybe 500 miles on the car in a year.. ?

Crazy! That's Murphy's Law in the extreme

My windshield isn't damaged by God or rocks: it is so pitted that when sun shines, I can hardly see. I suppose that's normal wear

Funny thing is That is the exact reason I had a new one put it.. The Ins will replace it because it is so pitted, interferes with you vision.. Esp in the sun... they had no issues … And after it is replaced you really notice how nice it is to have a clear one

Can you take a photo of the glass label in the bottom right corner? The Chinese windshields are going for ~$400-500 here and are made by FYG. Wondering if yours is the same.

Anyone have a picture of a Sekurit windshield(or Porsche ) showing the section of the bead that will contact the frame aperture?
I have bought 944 559 543 trim but I still cant understand what it does. The windshield comes with the section that holds the final trim finisher attached to the glass i.e. the U channel that the trim fits in
