Gearing may effect where how high you need to go in rpms in terms of staying in a certain cog on a certain location on any track...but with the SQ box it's possibly not as crucial. I would definitely look into an aftermarket waterpump as we've discussed. Sorry I can't get you the model number of mine. I just can't seem to find a receipt or even pic showing part#. It does have the highest flow rate though. As you probably know, Rod switched to an electric pump a while back.

-what balancing did you do to your engine?

This caught my eye, did a brief search and came back with minimal hits on an electric water pump swap from both benefit and experience perspectives.

Duke - are you running the same kind of setup?

Very impressive indeed.
How is the transmission holding up? And has it been strengthened to take the extra load?

With respect to electric water pumps (EWP) I do have references and positive experience, although they are most beneficial for street cars in traffic.

I originally had a Davies Craig EWP-80 on my Jalpa TT, but it had inadequate flow. So since I was installing turbochargers, I got creative and designed a hybrid water pump based on a turbo compressor and a Davies Craig EWP motor as shown below. The simple philosophy behind the effort was, that turbochargers have much better engineered fluid handling capacity and from fluid dynamic standpoint air and water are not that different (except for compressibility and density, which is compensated for with impeller speed). The result is a measured doubling of the flow.



It has worked great since 2014.

No balance shafts. Crank, flywheel and pullies are balanced together.

Thanks for the info.
I'm not sure yet what needs to be improved with the cooling. If it is hot spots or cavitation. Got an answer from Meizere and apparantly basically all mechanical pumps flow more than the electrical ones at higher rpms so I suspect flow is not the issue here.

The transmission is a Kaps Transmission 6 speed sequential transaxle. It is rated to 1000 Nm.
