Default Odometer gear source?

Who sells replacement odometer gears, the type with the correct number of teeth for accurate readout on a 1986 944 Turbo?

I've heard that some of these gears don't last long, and/or give incorrect readings. I'm looking for the good type that works properly.

Mine just started acting up. Who sells such currently?

For real this ^. I found that it helps to use a paper towel to surround the needle at the base help to distribute the pulling force you are apply more evenly.

same here. Happened to me a couple of months ago. I ended up buying a used speedometer from Lart. I used the bottom end of the used speedometer and used the top end of my speedometer to retain my mileage.
Lart sent this video to me while I was in the process of replacing.

Gear replacement is easy. Well, not easy but not that difficult. Just did mine and bought from FCP Euro who have the best price of anyone. Plus, hard to believe but they warranty every part they sell for life! The gear they sell is made by Odometer Gears http://www.odometergears.com/product...944+85.2-91/84 and is made from updated materials that need no grease will not disintegrate like the old one. And FCP sells it for less than half what Odometer Gears does.
Instructions are online.
Take your old speedo apart and count the teeth to make sure which gear you have.
Just be careful with the brittle electrical connectors when removing gauge cluster; they break easily after all these years.
