Parts that you need FS
ITEM ADDED:
968 crank (3.0L) with a mildly hurt #3 rod journal, so it's perfect for offset grinding for a "hybrid stroker". $500 takes it. Is everyone aware it's lighter than a S2 crank? Just sayin'.
***Sold pending payment*** Complete 968 cylinder head for sale. It's a virgin take-off which hasn't been cobbled by anyone.
Quick sale: $850 FOB. I'll throw in a set of followers.
***SOLD*** Also have a set of low-time 944/968 Carrillo connecting rods with the CARR bolt upgrade. LR gets $1435. I'll take $700. I can provide them with either a .927 (Chevy size) wrist pin bushing or a standard Porsche pin bushing - your choice. I can also machine them for the better bearing (Rod Mod) at a reduced price.
***A FEW SOLD, BUT I HAVE MORE!!*** OK, I'm on a roll... Several sets of 944/968 billet camshaft blanks. These are custom two-piece billet cams (yea, stupid expensive originally) with adjustable chain sprockets so lobe centers are fully adjustable. The roughed in lobes will accommodate any lobe profile, mild to wild. I can also recommend profiles for your application. $800/pr.
***SOLD*** Head studs custom made byT&K Precision in the UK (they do F1 fasteners). These are for a 2V head and are the longer 211mm studs (2V engines used two stud lengths, shorter ones are 193mm). I put a lot of effort into 944 head studs at one time, and found that neither domestic manufacturer had (or would share) detail on clamping force. Long story short is that factory studs provide appx. 12K psi clamping force at 62 ft.# and are too close to yield to go with much more torque. These T&K studs provide 17Kpsi clamp at 80 ft.# (moly) for an increase of 40% without distorting the cylinder. I had several sets made for the various cylinder head configurations. The one set left is 211mm. They also have 5mm spark eroded hex on the tops so they're easy to install/remove. OK, too much information. Way below my cost: $175.
Move 'em out. Need new bowling shoes.

How about I trade you some bowling lessons for 2 cam blanks with a +20 pin guarantee on your average....
1)Is there any duration and/or lift that has been made not possible by the roughing in of the lobes that has already been done..., and 2)are the bearing journals already done @ factory spec..?
If answers are 1)no and 2)yes, I'll take a set with 944S/S2 19T sprockets.
Post back and let me know, I have your email from a previous rod mod transaction,
T

The roughed in lobes are big enough for any lobe profile. The journals and exhaust snout are finish machined. You'll get blanks for both cams, centering dowel to align the two halfs, 19T adjustable sprockets, 5mm bolts to assemble. You'll like 'em. Give me a few days to box up and I'll give you a total with shipping. Email me your ship-to address.
Thank you.

Emailed for payment and mentioned it'd be fine whichever was easier.
1 box with 4 or two boxes with 2 ea.
I'm going to have to jump on getting these ground pretty quick as I have block/pistons and crank all ready to mock up for deck height and valve clearance and the SP3 968 killer project is back on the front burner.

I will be the new owner of a head built by MM. This is for my 60/40 street/DE car. Teach me about these cams and if there is a profile that will take my 968 to the next level, yet remain refined.

Hi Michael,
Your inbox is full so cant send pm to you.
Did you still have any sets of camshafts left?
Could you also grind them?
What other parts do you have for a 968 engine?
Looking for performance parts...
Any worked head, block, pistons, rods or so?
Thanks
/PJ

I got one set and greedy Max bought 2 sets....
So I think I can give an answer, no, none remaining.
Being that these cams came boxed in original boxes they were placed in when machined, and wrapped in newspaper from the era some 10 years ago, I'd say the caboose of the train had passed the station.
