Default Kep 930 pressure plate for 951

I am interested in a kep stage 1 clutch disc and pressure plate for my 951. Do you know if you can use a long bellhousing 930 pressure plate in a 951 application? Kennedy is closed for the weekend so I was hoping someone here would know the answer.

I think you have your question about pressure plate and disc backwards. I have the KEP 1 PP and 930 Sachs disc in my car and it's a great combo. Slightly stiffer pedal and nice grip. No chatter. Last dyno was
~385 hp/tq on a 3 liter. Highly recommend this combo. Tom Mcguinn also runs this combo.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, maybe my question wasn’t very clear. I found a 930 combo with a kep stage 1 pressure plate for a long bellhousing 930 and the matching 930 disc. The pressure plate is 240mm diameter but he said it is for a 930 long bellhousing, which looks to be very thick. I am wondering if the thickness is just a spacer that is bolted on or if it is actually machined as one piece. I think the included throw out bearing is also extended for the longer input shaft. It would be nice if it was able to remove a spacer and use it in a 951 application, but it was not clear from the photos in the ad.

Right. Best clutch combo by far I've tried. Stock engagement and holds well north of 450 ft lbs of torque. I actually use the 951 cup disk, rather than the 930 disk, since some have reported fitment issues with the 930 disk, but same material and idea. Haven't heard of anyone having that issue with a 930 disk in a while and suspect most of the early issues were due to bad thrust bearings and excessive crank movement.

The 930 disk is fine but I don't think the pressure plate is compatible. David tried it on his 951. He used a 951 TOB and ring gear but the actual stoke of the pressure plate wasn't right, it would never fully release.

It looks like the pressure plate will be a problem. I will confirm with Kennedy on Monday but guess the search continues. Of course, a non-cheapass would just get a new one direct from a supplier.

now that I think about it, I also run the cup disc. Been a long time since I installed that clutch.

I think your original post prompted answers that confused you. The set up you want is the KEP 1 pressure plate (which Kennedy sells specifically for the 951 and fits like a glove) and a 951 cup disk. That combo is time-tested to work extremely well on the 951, without all the shutter, noise, on/off and other issues so common in the other packages that can hold this much power.

I'm running the 930 disk and KEP I pressure plate. When I was replacing my clutch, several threads popped up about fitment issues with the KEP I/930 disk/Fidenza flywheel. If I recall, the issue came down to the Fidenza fw being slightly thicker than stock. That, combined with any slop in the main bearings, could cause issues with disengaging the clutch. I sold the Fidenza fw and bought a lightened stock fw. The 930 disk/KEP I, along with the lightened fw has been a great combo for me. I think the 930 disk is slightly larger in diameter than the cup disk, but not by a whole lot. I'm sure the cup disk/KEP pp would be the same in terms of drivability and torque handling capability.

Is the 911 turbo clutch disk the 930 disk?
The RAGE2 has a KEP1 a lightened stock flywheel and the online post says 911 turbo clutch disk. Anyhow it did work for the previous owner.

The 930 disk is what Jason at Paragon-products recommended at the time so I went with it. I believe that's the disk grushy.

Is there a difference between the G50 930 disks and pre G50 930 disks in terms of their use in 951?

My understanding after talking with Kennedy Engineering was the disk for a 930 is the same regardless of year but the throwout bearing and pressure plate differ based on the bellhousing depth. He suggested their 951 cup disk and pressure plate as a package.
