Need local 3.0L turbo experience
Hi all,
Is there anyone in the Boston area willing to give me a ride in their 3.0 Turbo build? I have my completely stock 2.5 turbo disassembled and I have a 3.0L block I was planning to swap it all on. I just keep going back and forth between the two and cannot make up my mind. I hate it when I have choices. TIA.

Understood. I meant parts that could be swapped on.
I am having a difficult time arguing between the 3.0 because a lot will have to be changed. I don't mind the cost, it's just taking it from it's originality to something that would have a hard time turning back to stock. I just need to feel the driveability of the 3.0 before I jump head first into a project like this to see if the risk is worth the reward.

When done right it definitely is worth it. Getting it done properly can be tricky and expensive though. That + scope creep is a b!tch.

As for being stock, you "really" need to know these engines to see the difference. Other than the one-bolt water passage at the front of the head (rather than two bolts on the 951 head/block), there's virtually no way to see the difference. Here's a picture of a 3 liter in sleeper mode. Same motor made 500hp on a dynojet with maf/cam/fmic etc. Is it worth it? Financially, probably not. In every other way, absolutely.

Or in some cases, way beyond that.
