Default Left Blinker

on my 87' 944 Turbo when I use the left blinker, after making the turn the blinker doesn't release back to normal. It works fine using the right turn signal. Any tips on how to fix that?

You probably need a new turn signal switch. Lart probably has buckets of them, but new ones are still available. It's a reasonably easy DIY project.

Mine does the exact same thing on my 86 951 - right works fine, left seldom, if ever works. I think it may have canceled itself maybe one time in the month that I've owned the car. I read somewhere that if you use something to build up that little cam thing on the steering wheel it will start working again. Some people claim that they have had success by wrapping electrical tape around it. I don't think I like that idea since it gets gooey in the summer heat. I might try slipping some heat-shrink tubing on the little nub and shrink it down and see if that little extra thickness solves it for me. Turning right all of the time is getting old...

Remove the switch column and douse inside with WD40 or similar first then grease the moving parts slightly.

I'll see to what point it annoys me to do something with it. I did read how to replace the turn signal switch and the amount of things to take apart may not be worth it, unless both broke.

Same sort of subject, but different issue -- my windshield wiper fluid doesn't work. The reservoir is full and I hear the motor when I engage it from the steering column, but nothing comes out.

Check to see if all of your hoses are still in one piece. Old plastic gets hard.

Here's how I fixed mine using heat-shrink tubing:

While the tubing was still warm I pushed the concave part in with my finger and it retained the shape.
