Default Hello fella's need Trans bolt ID help.

I miss this place. One of the best forums on Rennlist, or anywhere really. I recently purchased an 04 Cayenne Turbo. Its nice, and will be my 944t hauler. Been reading up on that forum recently.

As I am finally getting the 944t back together. I need help in identifying what the length and Pitch is for the upper transmission bolts. The bell housing ones that bolt in, not needed nuts. Somehow they have been misplaced during my car's down time.

I will probably have a few other questions in the next couple weeks but this is the most pertinent.

Hope everyone still is doing well with their 944 s. I miss mine.

The Allen head ones without nuts are 12mm x 80mm.

The others with the nuts are 10mm x 60

I would guess they are both standard pitch as I use the rear ones some times as bolts to hold an engine block on a stand.

Standard pitch for the 12mm is 1.75 and 1.50 for the 10mm.

I want to say the M12x80 Allen bolts have a 1.5 pitch rather than the more common 1.75. The threads for the block are M12x1.5 for sure, so if these bolts thread into the block, then they are 1.5. The part number comes up in lots of Porsche applications, with people complaining about not finding the right threads in the hardware store....

They're 1.5mm pitch, consistent with other M12 hardware on the car.

Totally off-topic, but have to say how much I appreciate this forum, especially after working to restore my dad's old 450SL. If this question were asked on the MB forums, you'd be lucky to get one response 3 days later, and it would be a referral to a "great" AAMCO shop in Iowa. Ok, maybe not that bad, but the collective tech info here is awesome in comparison!
