my limiting factors, which I just could not dish out money for yet, are that im sticking with the NA cam and 8v head (albeit built). honestly I don't even care if its over 400, as long as it gets there quickly and easily. anything above that is fluff and respect points ;p
on another note, im guessing it will be quite above that number.

So, Im trying to figure out what I can and cant use from my current block:
OPRV, OPSU, etc etc etc.
I am swapping all over from an 88 Turbo S, so I think everything should be basically swappable to the 3.0 S2 block and 2.7 head. I do believe Michael said the intake runners may have to be slightly modified inside to line up with the 2.7 head. other than that, all should be the same I believe?

Dropped off the block, crank, pistons, rods, bearings, and head at M and B Cylinder Heads this morning. Found I don't have hardware for the crank girdle, which is pretty essential to make sure things line up and clearances are good... I haven't gotten my old motor all the way out yet so im going to have to source some hardware to get to him asap.
Should be a few weeks until hes done with the boring, decking, gapping, clearancing, and shortblock setup. gonna order the turbo later this week, then continue disassembling the old motor to get ready

The 12mm and 10mm girdle hardware were sent with the block. You only need to source the 8mm and 6mm bolts which should be easy.

Correct I should have clarified that. Sad thing is I have it on the motor in the car, and my spare motor at my shop, I just don't have time to get it!

Still trying to source the girdle hardware. I cant believe I haven't found anyone with it yet... I guess ill have to go out and pull it off my extra motor this weekend.
as far as the oil shields, I spoke with Mike at Lindsey Racing, and he indicated that after finding burnt oil building up above them, only a few thousand miles after a motor build, he has never left a set in any motor since. Too much heat builds up above them. So it looks like I will go ahead and leave them off.

AutoAtlanta has nice parts diagrams, it's easy to find what you need.

Thank you for that! Now I'm just trying to figure out what bolt 24 is, and if I need it ...

If you have a 3.0 block from the 968, try this diagram;
http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=101-10
see #18. Also note the quantity listed. Those are needed on the outer edge of the girdle.

its an S2 block, but see here (random internet picture):

It seems I need:
15/16 (7 each)
17/18 (7 each)
19 (5 each)
23/24 (1 each) - it looks like in my picture a ways up that little stud is in fact there. and the other studs are included in a baggie Michael sent. what is the bushing that is NLA, number 25?
