Default 2mm reference sensor shim replacement?

As of this writing, the 2mm 'figure 8' speed sensor shim part 94410132500 is no longer available from Porsche; it is not listed on many of the aftermarket sites either (I only found it listed on Paragon but unsure if they still have it, and if they did, it's $40+ to ship.

[EDIT: It IS available; the part number is 951.101.325.00 instead of 944*. The 951* number shoes up on Sunset Porsche parts search as well as the usual aftermarket sites... see posts below]

I'm in Toronto Canada, and a reliable used 944 parts place is quite far to drive for this. I'd also like to get this done asap

So, could I just cut something out of a harder gasket material? I thought of using a tiny washer for the bolt end only but then there'd be this space on the back side of the sensor, though it's pretty tight, so I doubt it would move. Thoughts?

And yes, this is needed; I did some measurements with the bellhousing off, and with a .8mm feeler guage, I could get the sensor to barely clear at maximum bracket "up" position, but as I tightened down the bracket bolts, it got too tight--only a .2mm feeler could get in. Clearly, the proper way is the 2mm washer which puts the bracket adjustment in the middle area; the .3mm part 94410133500 (I understand for NA cars) is still available but at max adjustment position would be a *very* tight .8mm (more like .5mm)

FYI I checked the clearance between the other reference sensor and little screw on flywheel; with the speed sensor in place and an aprox. 2mm tiny washer under the bolt end, the ref sensor takes the .81mm feeler guage pretty nicely. This tells me the proper figure 8 is indeed the 2mm on my 951

2mm washer under the bolt, and i bet you could find a 2mm thick o-ring to go around the body of the sensor to support it up against the bracket.

I believe the part # is 95110132500, seems in-stock at most places.

I called my local Porsche dealer and checked on sunset porsche's online search; neither has it even listed any more. Pelican Parts, nothing. A search on Auto Atlanta brings up nothing. Google search didn't find it for me.

101335 the .3mm is widely available though

Where are you finding it?

Full service parts stores used to carry sheets of brass shim stock in different thicknesses to shim behind worn insert bearings and to align bearing blocks. It was just a sheet of brass x-thousandths of an inch thick and you cut the shim that you needed from that. You might check your local stores for that item and make your own shim.

Around here, it's all big box stores and pre-packaged stuff now-a-days

Exactly. Dan use the links I provided you in my prior post where I directly link you via that part #.

Ahhhh... I didn't notice those were links! Thanks for the follow up

Tomorrow I'm gonna call the Porsche dealer up here and ask why buddy couldn't find this thing—even after searching for the old 944* part number and by description! You'd think they could find such a thing

I'm curious if there's another more modern version of the PET.. the common one is labelled 1988 S2. In this case, the common PET only lists the 944* part number. Is it usual for 951 part to have the 951* part number? The parts I've referenced from the 1988 PET have the 944* even for the 44.50/51 series motors (turbo)

Nevermind; I must be smoking something. I checked the part number again—this time using the official Porsche PET on their website—and sure enough, the shim in question is listed as a 951* part.

Ooops.

You either put in the wrong part number, used dashes/spaces in your partnumber or your computer cache is doing something weird, it’s happened to me in the past, computers
