Balance Shaft Bearing Bridges

I need a sanity check. I'm assembling an N/A engine using a turbo block. The block number is M44/51 45H02657. The PET lists this as a engine from a 1987 944 turbo.

The WSM has specific discussion that starting with the 1985/2 models, that the center bearings on the compensating caps use a separate bearing cap. My compensating shaft covers clearly have a bearing cap integral to the cover. I've confirmed that the covers belong with the block, i.e the same 4 digit number is stamped on the block, the compensating shaft covers, and the the lower crankcase girdle.

Does it make sense that I do not have separate bearing caps?

Thanks in advance,

Harvey

Mine are integral.

Make sure you use the 10.9 grade bolts with their thicker washers adjacent to the BS bearings (2 each side). They also get higher torque. The factory manual has the sequence and torque. BTW, to ensure the covers are on the correct side, the stamped numbers face UP.
