5P is toast. Anyone have one clogging up a corner of your shop?

Tedro you get 10% off ebay prices, you wont regret upgrading to the AOS, also I have LSD units but they are more expensive.

We have one locally, think its missing the cooler loop. From a turbo we parted this summer, was an 86 / non LSD. Cheap though! :P

Thanks to Luis and Disasterman for the replies. I'm trying to do this very quickly, and it looks like Ben/Sam have exactly what I need to get me off the hook.

Most clutch based Salisbury type LSD units generate decent amount of heat and cooling is recommended when used for AutoX or track applications. The cooling parts from the 5P can be moved to the AOS but the diff carrier bearing race have to be moved from the non-oil pump side cover of the AOS to the oil pump some cover of the the 5P. The same is valid for the rear 5th gear cover.

For what it's worth I had California Motorsports rebuild my AOR. Roger is the man to talk to. It cost a few G's but it's a Porsche. They did an awesome job and it looks like a new transaxle. I recommend to send them a 5P,5R or AOR to rebuild only because they are for a 951. I'm not a fan of spending that kind of $ on an AOS because the pinion gear is much smaller then the turbo units. But to each is their own.
