I'm doing well, thanks! And you? I browse more than post anymore. I've had more opportunity lately as my shop is humming along and I can actually have some downtime now and then.

My 951 is in another rebuild process (go figure, right?). I'm about 1/4 through balance shaft seals and a clutch. I just got a new dash kit from Classic 9 and will redo the seats this winter. I have a family now and want them to enjoy riding in it so I'm detuning it to the 300HP range and will shelve the 3.1 plans in favor of college funds. Growing up sucks sometimes.

The kits IceShark developed have a 125A main fuse just off the battery lead. I think had made a battery terminal/fuse/jumper for all the watercoolers before he passed. I'm not sure who ended up with his inventory.

It is odd that it was not fused from the factory.

(Sorry for the OT - hadn't talked to this RL'er in 10 years)

LOL, yeah...., my son was about 14 years old back when you had the cracked block in shipping.
He helped me prep the parts I sent.
He just turned 30 last month.....

I don't even have a street 944/51 anymore.

All stripped race cars.

Back on topic...., I'll catch you around another thread....,

The idea of adding a main 125A fuse as an additional safety measure intrigues me.
Does anyone has such fuse installed and can share photos/instructions on how to add it correctly so it actually protects the system rather than add risk to it?

FYI, The fuse on the IceShark/Robby kits are 175A which is on the 4awg main cable. I believe that was also used on the supplemental positive as well. Some earlier/optional versions may have used a 150A.

I've attached a picture of what the kits used to look like. You can see the large black rectangle near the battery attachment point which is the inline fuse.

Thanks for the photo.
This kit looks like it is well made.

I was thinking of getting the blue sea fuse and fuse block:
https://www.bluesea.com/products/519...k_-_30_to_300A
https://www.bluesea.com/products/518...al_Fuse_-_175A

I saw in the kit photo that it only protects the main line to the starter (and from the Alternator) if I am not mistaken.

Do you think it makes sense to put it in front of the other smaller cable too (which goes to the fuse box if I am not mistaken so it may be redundant)?

The Ice Shark kit I️ just installed has 2 fuses. One on the starter to Alternator cable and one on the supplemental positive cable to the fuse box. The original wires to the fuse box are mounted to the fused link as well so in the end all power sources are fused except the large cable from Battery to the starter and all cables are sheathed in a supplemental fiberglass housing.

Mine might be 150A and not 125A... been a while since I looked at it. Mine is a bit different than the one you show since it was the 1st (non prototype). We made some changes here and there when I installed it - same with the headlight kit.

I think it is a wise move to get a fuse into the power supply circuit somewhere.

My kit has 175A fuse on the battery to fuse box and 150A fuse on the starter to alternator wire.
