Default Best Currently Avail Camber Plates?

So I bought some camber plates to replace my worn Stock top bearings, and their bottom surface is both too small to comfortably support the shock top hat, and also 1 1/4” lower than Stock, which reduces my travel to 1.5” which is basically on the bump stops and not good. What are the best ones to use that raise the top mount or at least keep it same height as Stock?

Thanks!

Is your car lower than stock?
Do you have coilovers fitted?

Most bottom mount camber plates will be fine on stock height cars and stock spring hats. If you have made changes it would be best to use top mounted camber plates to regain travel after lowering. I use the Ground Control version, which also has various options to accommodate different spring top configurations. They are well made and I’ve been happy with them.

Do you have any photos of how you have it assembled?

The camber plate and how you attached the damper.

FWIW - I bought a nice pair of OE strut mounts from LART for $99. Also if the rubber is good but bearing are dry you can carefully remove the bearing seals and regrease them.

My car is a little lower on KW V3s, so I’m going to give the top mount GC with hats a shot. Hopefully they do the trick.

Thanks!

The KW top mounts aren't the best out there. We had issues with the metal plate where the degrees would be inscribed, actually bent upwards under stress. Also it didn't allow for max travel and we ran into the bumpstops which eventuated in understeer in slow to medium speed corners. This was cleared up when we switched to the Racers Edge version which are built better and also raise the attachment point.

Racers Edge are what I run as well, no issues at all.

Stupid question but did you use a spacer between the spring hat and the camber plate?

Negative, top hat straight to bottom of Camber plate. Looking forward to the integrated hats on the GC top mounts.

Normally there is a spacer that goes between the spring hat and the camber plate bushing on the camber plates with a solid bushing

Here is a link to a Honda website that has a diagram of a front assembly.

My mechanic installed the ground control top mount plates and hats, do y’all get the spring bind sound when turning?

Yep, I get the same sound with my Racer's Edge units.

I have a needle bearing spacer between my spring hat and camber plate. No binding. You don't want any binding.
