Default 88 951 How is the oil pump powered??

I replaced the crank shaft seal and now I have 2-3 bars. Checked OPRV, sender etc.... I read that it is turned by friction? Could someone explain and how does the correct placement of the reddish brown seal effect this?

Thanks!

When replaced the crank bolt which holds the PS pump pulley ( backed by the thrust washer) need a ton of tourqe not sure of the spec but its like 150 ft lbs if it is not tight enough the gear will slip a bit. Esp when the oil is cold and thick. I just hit it with an impact. Never had an issue..

yes friction...clamping torque.

main bolt is torqued to 155ftlbs, big conical washer (flat side towards engine) clamps on pulleys, pulleys clamp on washer, washer clamps on (below, in green) o-ring and the "gear thing" inside the brown/red seal. gear thing has external teeth which engage the internal teeth of the oil pump rotor.
