Default Central warning light popping on

Yesterday my central warning light started popping on and off. It seemed to be related to when I was accelerating uphill?

Whats interesting to me is that the light that illuminates the high temperature area on the temperature gauge came on aswell (I didn't even know that area of the gauge lit up). But the actual needle was reading at the lower operating temperature. The temperature gauge has alway operated like I'd expect, moving between the two operating temperature lines.

Has anyone seen this combination of behavior before? I tried doing some searching but I haven't seen much on this issue

Are you asking if the central warning light comes on at any other times? Recently it has looked like it was barely on. Very dim. Other than that I don't it has come completely on other than the incident I mentioned from yesterday

if the needle didn't move. might be something at the back of the cluster? im only guessing. if the needle moved, it would be the sensor wire touching eachother.

I guess this could be related to me breaking the speedo this weekend. New one will be in the mail today from Lart so I'll tackle that and see if it helps

Parking brake switch is another thing you might take a look at.

If my memory serves me right, there are two temperature sensors one for the dim light you a referring to and another for the gauge. I'll look at the diagram when I get home. And I believe the light will trip the central warning, but the gauge doesn't. If that's the case and your temperatures are normal, I would replace one of the sensors. Do you have any other symptoms of a failing temperature sensor such as rough idling or weird engine issues?

Thanks for the input guys. I just got the car back together today after replacing the battery starter cable harness. At the same time I fixed speedometer I broke on my previous attempt to fix the odometer. The temperature light and central warning light only started coming on once the speedometer was broken. Sometimes it would come on as soon as the car started up. The car shows no signs that there is anything wrong other than these light so I think the issues are related to the speedo/odometer. I have only driven the car about 2 miles since I got it back together and the light haven't come on yet. I don't think it will be only time will tell.
