Default a little OT: Would a civic with a b16a supercharged beat my 951?

My friend thinks his supercharged b16a hatchback civic would smoke my 951. I know that his car is fast (beat a type R) without a supercharger. I told him i'm getting a MAP and k27/6 and he told me he still would beat me. So who do you think would win?

What kind of supersharger and how much boost is he running? What else has he done to it? Don't assume you can beat him just because it is a Honda, however, with a tuned K27, I think it would have to be an awefully stout little Honda to take you. The Jackon Racing SC, for example, only adds something like 50 hp over stock.

he has chips, catless exhaust system,k&n air filter, GSR transmission, and some other small stuff that he won't tell me. His car without a supercharger has about 200HP. Don't forget his car is very light. So with a supercharger he would have around 250HP @ the crank. My car should have 300-320 @ the wheels with the stuff i'm getting.

Race him 100 mph - 160 mph. You should win.

I think civics can't even go 160 mph.

Dude, with a K27 and MAP you should be pushing maybe up to 320hp at the rear wheels... he'll need some serious boost to beat that, also the front wheel drive is going to cause traction problems if you'd take a standing/low speed start.

On a highway, I don't think he'd have any chance... I don't know for sure, but the civic most probably isn't geared high enough to have the top end you will have

edit: oops, too late, seems like these points are already covered

Don't race from a stop for the sake of your tranny, but you'll beat him handily. The Type R has 200hp from the factory, quite a ways below you.

okay it depends totally on how much boost he is pushing. If he is only running mild boost levels......i.e. 5or 7 lbs of boost from a roll he isint going to touch you....one thing you have to remember he has no torque, and until you pass the 100mph mark torque really matters alot.....when i was stock........ completely stock other than lbe i could run almost even with my friends gsr integra...he had a completely built engine(rods, crank, pistons, head, sleaved..ect.ect.) and a rev hard stage 2 turbo kit(injectors, fbr, chips, intercooler, full 2 1/2 inch downpipe with exhaust....ect..ect... basically the car was sick....but he was only running 8 psi when we raced those times......so you see because his car made 233fwhp.....but only 184 in torque i could stay even with him from a low roll .....it wouldnt be until we hit 4rth that he could really pull on me.Now that i have some mods(mind you i havent even swapped out my turbo yet!) i pull him hard....btw the way he now makes 281 frhp and 194 torque....and from a 40 punch i own him......by the time we hit 120 he is about 5 or 6 cars back.....these cars are quick....but unless he is pushing 16lbs of boost i really dont see how he plans to touch you ......unless you were going from a light .....which i never do cause it is hell on our cars.....so never race him from a light. The fact that he is so confident in how much faster his car is than yours.....even after you told him the mods you are looking at ....tells me he doesnt know much about the kind of power our cars can make.....it also tells me he hasent raced a modded 951 cause if he had he wouldnt be mouthing off like he is.....get your mods dont say anything and catch him from a 40 roll some night........lol.....or better yet on the freeway.....goodluck in him catching you on the freeway. ......try and film it and post it for us ......or at least keep up updated on how it went...

to your first fast import kill.

200hp from a NA B16A??? Are you kidding? Although it is possible, I highly Highly doubt he is pushing 200 in NA trim. Most of the turboed B16's I have seen have been around 200- 210whp. He would need some serious valvetrain work to rev high enough to get that kinda power out of a 1.6

Judging by the mods you have listed that he has, I would estimate 145whp.(without boost)

You will smoke him. Without the MAP, without the k27, with just the Guru Chips, you will still smoke him.

Yeah, if you are behind him, you will have to brake HARD to keep from smashing into him if you both go at the same time. This sounds like a guy who hasn't driven a fast car.

And wait a minute... wow, 200 from a b16??? He must be supertech - does he work for B.A.R.???
