Default Dry Sump

Hi , I am looking at putting together a dry sump system on a new engine build . Just wanted to know what people did with the existing pump . The housing obviously remains but where is the block blanked of and how are people doing this . Pictures would be helpful.
Thanks

Thank you for the response . Yes I have seen the Lindsey website but it has no mention of plugging original oil entry or I have failed to see it on their website .

If you use the plate that replaces the oil console then the path from the old oil galley is blocked off and the input on the plate goes directly to the main oil galley. just pull the gears out of the stock oil pump and you are good to go.

Do you still use the oil pump drive gear and regular front crank seal even with the oil pump's "driven gear" removed?

yes, otherwise you would get an oil leak!
the drive gear does not drive anything but it is the point of contact for the crank seal.

Thank you Chris , that makes sense . Will have some aluminium plate water cut as a blanking plate and new oil feed .

You will need to make it work with the stock oil console gasket - it seals coolant. If you want to make a permanent conversion you can weld up the two coolant holes and tap the oil hole for an AN fitting.

Or just buy the Lindsey plate!
